Ingredients:

  • 1 pint blackberries (reserve 4 for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 10 generous scoops vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1 vanilla bean, split, seeds scraped
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg

1. Place blackberries and sugar in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Use the back of a spoon to mash the berries and let cool.

2. Place the milk, ice cream, vanilla bean seeds and nutmeg into a blender. Blend until smooth.

3. Pour 1/3rd of the ice cream mixture into each milkshake glass. Add a few tablespoons of the berries. Add another 1/3rd of the ice cream mixture and a few more tablespoons of the berries. Add in remaining milkshake mixture. Stir with a straw to swirl the berries. Top with remaining berries and serve.
