Spicy Mango/Pineapple Hot Dogs

Sometimes you get bored of the same old hot dogs. Mustard. More mustard. Maybe even ketchup. Or BBQ sauce. This recipe dresses up those boring hot dogs, believe me!

If you have any leftover salsa, just dip it with chips (or do what I did and top some burgers with it)!

Makes: 8 servings
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • Mango/Pineapple salsa (see below)
  • Jalapeño sauce (see below)

1. Cook hot dogs as desired. Toast buns. Top dogs with salsa and sauce and enjoy!

For the Mango/Pineapple Salsa:


  • 1/2 red onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 T jalapeño, minced
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1 ripe mango, cubed
  • 1 cup pineapple, cubed

1. Combine all ingredients.

For the Jalapeño sauce:


  • 6 jalapeños, seeded, rough chopped
  • 3 T white vinegar
  • 3 T olive oil
  • 2 T red onion, chopped
  • 1/2 lime, juiced

1. Place all ingredients in a blender. Process until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste and pulse a few more times.
